How safe is paintball?
According to insurance companies, it is safer than golf, tennis, and bowling.

What is the risk?

There really is next to no risk of injury in paintball. In fact the
most common injury in paintball is merely a twisted ankle from
running on an uneven surface.

What if I don’t have my own equipment?
If you are playing with us, the Paintball Club has many sets of equipment available for
you to use. Otherwise, contact a local field and rent their equipment when you go there.

What should I wear?
Most players wear either camouflage or dark colored clothing. The color of your clothing
is not as important as comfort is. You will be moving around a lot.

Does the paint stain?

No, the paint is water-based, non-toxic, and biodegradable.

What should I bring to the field?

You might want a bottle of water in case you get thirsty. Some people
bring a change of clothes in case they get dirty, or at least a towel to
sit on during the ride home.

Do I need gloves?

Gloves aren’t necessary, but a lot of people wear them while playing.
If you are playing when it is cold out, then you will definitely
want a pair of gloves. In warmer weather a lot of people wear thin gloves
such as batting gloves.

How fast does a paintball go?

The fastest legal limit is usually 300 feet per second (204.5 mph).
A lot of fields limit the speed to even slower than that. Our speed limit
is 290 fps (197.7 mph).

How do I know how fast I am shooting?

To measure the speed you are shooting you use a chrono. All you have
to do is put the barrel of your gun over the chrono and shoot. The chrono
uses radar and tells you how fast you shot. If you were above the limit,
it beeps to let you know the speed needs to be turned down.
